Let’s Co-Create!
WasteCulture.com is an independent, internet-based, B2B content platform that is financially, professionally and politically neutral. It is a global network and knowledge hub for sustainable solutions in waste management. We created WasteCulture to address the global climate crisis by encouraging people to work together in all areas of public life, including politics, science, the economy and society, to create a circular waste culture.
Vision
Society and governments recognize the power of responsible waste and consumption management as the key to overcoming the planetary crisis. Sustainable waste and resource management is increasingly becoming a driver of social transformation. Thanks to simple and rapidly effective solutions for dealing with waste materials compared to other climate protection sectors, societies are realizing that the 1.5 degree target of the 2015 Paris Agreement is once again achievable.
Mission
To achieve this, WasteCulture's mission is to build a global knowledge platform for intelligent waste management that motivates social actors to take an open look at local waste practices and integrate cultural factors into sustainable solutions for reducing greenhouse gases.
WasteCulture is working to ensure that people and organizations worldwide understand waste as a resource and explore, share, and adapt (Co-Create) solutions for sustainable development to the local situation. WasteCulture recognises that this is most effective when solutions take cultural habits into account.

We believe
Around half of global emissions are down to the way we make and use products and food (Source at sec 57 on video: Ellen McArthur Foundation):
This includes, in particular, how we manage products at the end of their life cycle.
The most immediate and effective way to reduce half of these greenhouse gas emissions is through material AND energy recovery, rather than landfilling solid waste.
A holistic approach to waste management, committed to the SDGs, is vital to staying on track for the 1.5°C target.
The "Zero Waste to Landfill” goal can be reached by cultivating an intelligent and empathetic waste culture that empowers individuals to turn feelings of helplessness into action.
Knowledge in waste management is complex and interdisciplinary. It should be openly accessible, built on existing frameworks, and foster greater collaboration among people. So, here we go:
WasteCulture provides a global platform where professionals, organizations, and communities collaborate across borders, industries, and mindsets to shape this shared vision.
Explore: We are curious and open to every innovation, technology, and way of thinking that supports a sustainable waste culture and the SDGs. We invite our members to explore, adapt, and apply these ideas to tackle the challenges they encounter.
Share: We share knowledge openly and responsibly, enabling decision-makers worldwide to access and apply it.
Co-Create: We invite everyone to engage in dialogue, adapt solutions, and co-create practical applications – driving a global transformation in waste management based on respect, diversity, and innovation.

Our Values
These values guide our actions and reflect what we believe is essential for creating a truly sustainable waste culture.
Valuing Life: We respect all forms of life and see waste management as an essential part of protecting our planet and its people.
Environment First: Environmental integrity comes before individual or short-term interests.
Global Solutions: Most likely, somewhere in the world, a solution already exists for the problem you are facing – let’s find and share it.
Holistic Economics: Every project must account for environmental and social costs, not just financial ones.
Co-Creative Knowledge Building: Knowledge grows through open communication, appreciation, and co-creation.
Open Source Mindset: We believe in transparency, accessibility, and open exchange of information and data.
Sharing for Impact: By sharing best practices in waste management, we empower regions and individuals to achieve sustainable progress.
Collective Intelligence: Imagine the potential of a global community working together – a collective brain for sustainable waste management.
Knowledge is Power – When Shared: True strength comes from sharing knowledge, not from keeping it to oneself.
